2025年8月17日に愛知県の豊橋市にある「のんほいパーク」でライオンの三つ子の赤ちゃんが生まれました。
そして、今週の初めには子ライオン達の命名式が行われました。
命名は三つ子ちゃん達のお母さんであるシルクちゃんが候補の中から選ぶというものでした。
選ばれたのは8月生まれということにあやかり、”夏の大三角形”を形作る３つの一等星。
「織姫星」として有名なこと座のベガ、「彦星」のわし座のアルタイル、はくちょう座のデネブ。
これらの星から、ベガ♀、アル♂、デン♂という名前を授かりました。
仔ライオン達は生まれてから、しばらくはお母さんのシルクと一緒に過ごしていました。
赤ちゃんはスクスクと成長して柵越しに父親のアースとも対面し、10月20日の同居訓練を経て翌日から親子の同居も一般公開されました。
お母さんのシルクも手を焼くほどのヤンチャぶりで、父親のアースにも物おじせずに近寄る姿もありました。
アースは神経質な一面もあり、噛んだりすり寄って来る赤ちゃん達に怒った顔を見せることもありますが、父親らしく見守る姿もありました。
お母さんのシルクも４年ほど前に生まれた息子の「スカイ」を立派に育てた経験もあり、仔ライオン達を落ち着いて育てている様子でした。
ライオンは今後100年の間に絶滅する確率が10％以上と言われるレッドリストの危急にも該当しています。
1990年代初めに行われた調査では1950年には10万から40万頭ほどいたとされていたそうです。
ですが、生息地の減少と人間との衝突で個体数の減少も進み、2002年から2004年の段階で1万6千から4万7千頭にまで減ったと推測されています。
日本では動物園などでも人気の高いライオンですが、現地では人間の生活を脅かす脅威とみなされていることも少なくありません。
生存の危機にさらされたライオンを保護するカギは、地元の人を助けることにあるとも言われています。
アフリカ出身が代表を務めるNPO団体では、“人のために行動すれば、ライオンのためにもなる”を合言葉としているそうです。
絶滅の危惧や脅威にさらされている動物の中には、動物を脅威とみなされ排除されたり、商品価値を見出した人間による乱獲も関係しています。
動物たちの愛おしい姿を見て、こうした野生での現状や現地の方の生活にも目を向けて頂けると幸いです。

【観光紹介】新潟のおススメスポット｜白鳥の渡来地・瓢湖水きん公園（新潟県阿賀野市）
新潟県阿賀野市にある瓢湖は、白鳥の渡来地として全国的にも有名でラムサール条約の登録湿地でもあります。
白鳥は、毎年10月上旬に瓢湖を訪れ、3月まで滞在します。
ピークになる11月下旬には、5,000羽を超える白鳥を見ることもできます。
また、瓢湖では白鳥の他、カモやサギなど四季折々に訪れる野鳥に出会うこともできます。
瓢湖水きん公園には観測舎もあり、休憩しながら窓越しに瓢湖を一望できるほか、カフェやスイーツも販売しています。
また、観測舎では瓢湖カラーのカブがお出迎えしてくれて、瓢湖にちなんだグッズも販売しています。
瓢湖で販売しているスイーツには地元の酪農家や洋菓子店などの製品も提供されていて、地域と強い結びつきのある観光地でもあります。

瓢湖では白鳥の飛来シーズンになると午前９時、11時、午後3時の1日3回のエサやりが行われます。
餌やりの習慣は、初代「白鳥おじさん」故・吉川重三郎氏が昭和29年に白鳥の人工給餌に成功したことに始まります。
「こーい、こーい」の掛け声と共にエサをまく、「白鳥おじさん」の姿は圧巻です。
白鳥が飛来し始めてから３月まで火曜と水曜を除き毎日活動されているそうです。
瓢湖の観測舎では白鳥やカモなど水鳥のエサも販売していて、エサやり体験をすることもできます。
エサの収益は公園の環境整備に使われ、瓢湖では白鳥をはじめとする生物の保護活動が地元のボランティアや保護団体と連携して行われています。
また、瓢湖では白鳥のいない時期も楽しめるようにとクジャクも飼育されています。
令和７年度の８月には、クジャクが産んだ卵の人工ふ化でヒナも誕生していて、白鳥おじさんが親代わりになり、順調に成長しているそうです。
瓢湖はその美しい自然と豊かな生態系が、地元の人から愛され地元の阿賀野市の魅力の人るでもあります。

【イベント紹介】茶臼山動物園の人気イベント!!『サマーナイトZOO』が今年も開催します！夜の動物たちを観察しよう♪
茶臼山動物園では年間を通して色々なイベントを実施しています。
今回は夏季に開催される夜間動物園（ナイトZOO）ついてご紹介します。
ナイトZOOでは日中には見ることができない、夜行性の動物の行動を観察することができます。
園内は外灯の他、モニュメントや看板が電飾でライトアップされているので、普段と違った動物園の雰囲気を味わうことができます。
また、ウマやケヅメリクガメが園内を練り歩く納涼タイムも見ものです。
この他にも普段は展示室やバックヤードにいるアルマジロやボールパイソンなどを間近で観察したり、動物解説やネズミさんたちのレース大会やグッズ販売などのイベントも盛りだくさんです。

【イベント紹介】ライオンのカジカジタイム（茶臼山動物園）
茶臼山動物園では年間を通して色々なイベントを実施しています。
今回は人気の高いライオンのイベントについて紹介します。
茶臼山動物園のライオンがいる「ライオンの丘」は、開園40周年を記念して新設され、令和5年4月22日に一般公開されました。
ライオンのカジカジタイムでは、カルシウム摂取と環境エンリッチメントの向上の為に牛の骨をおやつとして与えるそうです。
イベントを開始するとすぐに来たのはメスのライオンの「つむぎ」でした。
「つむぎ」の反応とは対照的にオスのライオンの「臼三」は全く興味を示しませんでした。
飼育員さんの話では「臼三」はあまり牛骨が好きではないとのことでした。
牛骨は２頭のライオンに１本ずつ用意されていましたが、「臼三」は最後まで興味を示すことなく、「つむぎ」が２本とも堪能しました。
「つむぎ」が十分に牛骨を堪能して満足すると「臼三」の元へ戻っていきました。
こうした野生の動物の自然な姿は見る機会も少ないと思うので、機会がありましたら、ぜひ参加して頂きたいです (^-^)

【観光紹介】潮風と海鳥に会える旅、遊覧船で笹川流れ（新潟県村上市）
笹川流れは、新潟県村上市にある海岸で、国の名勝や天然記念物にも指定されている地域です。
日本百景にも選定された県下でも有数の海岸景勝地でもあります。
全長11キロメートルに及び、その間に奇岩や絶壁、洞穴が連なっています。

【お知らせ】小諸市動物園、新しい仲間を加え、プレオープン!!
小諸市動物園は来年で開園１００周年を迎えます。
１００周年を迎えるにあたり、これまで段階的に施設の再調整が進められてきました。
今月、４月１日からはリニューアルに先立ち、一部改装の終えた獣舎のお披露目として、施設がプレオープンしました。
ポニーやミニブタなどを含め、４か所の獣舎が新しくなり、今年の２月には寄贈されたポニーのポン太とモカが新しく仲間に加わりました (^-^)
今年の６月から来年の３月末まで工事の為休園しますが、休工日の日曜日のみ開園しています。
この機会にぜひ、新しくなった小諸市動物園をご覧にお越しください!!

I personally use WordPress and am able to run my site safely thanks to the security measures I take.
So I don’t know about other platforms.

【お知らせ】アザラシの赤ちゃん誕生!!（マリンピア日本海）
2025年4月4日に新潟県にある水族館「マリンピア日本海」でゴマフアザラシの赤ちゃんが生まれました。
マリンピア日本海でゴマフアザラシが出産するのは６年ぶりで、白い体毛に包まれた愛らしい姿は来館する多くの人を釘付けにしました。
赤ちゃんが生まれたのは４日の10時頃で、性別はメス、出生時の身長が83センチ、体重は11キロでした。
母親の「きなこ」は秋田県の男鹿水族館GAOの出身で、今年で８歳になります。
また、生まれた赤ちゃんはきなこにとって第一子になります。
アザラシの赤ちゃんはお母さんを呼ぶために大きな声で鳴いたり、手足をばたつかせて元気な姿を見せてくれました。
２日目にはプールの中で泳ぎまわり、母アザラシからもお乳をもらい体重も１.5キロ増えて順調に成長しています。
ゴマフアザラシの赤ちゃんの特徴である白い体毛は、生後２～３週間程度で抜け落ちてしまいます。ぜひ、この機会にご覧にお越しください (^-^)

I use a contracted server to back up my data.
There are also plugins for security in WordPress, so give them a try (^-^)

【お知らせ】ヤギとヒツジの出産ラッシュ（新潟市）
春は多くの牧場でヤギやヒツジが出産のシーズンを着かえる時期です。
先日も新潟にある「新潟市アグリパーク」で飼育されているヤギとヒツジが出産しました。
こちらの施設では施設に訪れた見学者の方が、実際にヤギやヒツジの出産に立ち会われることもあるそうです。
生まれてから間もないヤギやヒツジの赤ちゃんを間近で観察できるのは貴重な体験です。
また、同じく新潟にある「いくとぴあ食花 動物ふれあいセンター」でも、出産を控えたヤギとヒツジに会うことができます。
